Bronzes

The bronze statues from SFD Bronzes are made using the lost wax casting process (cire-perdue). This means that they are cast in a mold that contains a wax sculpture. The wax melts through the hot bronze, which is removed from the sculpture after it has cooled and given different finishes. Bronzes are made of 80% copper and 20% tin and stand on wooden or marble bases.

All bronzes can be left outdoors and can withstand weather conditions from rain to snow. Bronze does not rust, but oxidizes and develops verdigris over the years. This is not a problem with brown or green bronzes and is a familiar sight; it does not look so nice with silver and gold bronzes.

Bronzes are best cleaned with a dry, warm cloth. Place this cloth on the heater for a while beforehand. If the sculpture is dirty, you can always clean the bronze with a clean, damp cloth.

The bronzes are available in five colors: gold, silver, antique green, brown and a multi-color. Each color is beautifully finished and polished.

SFD bronzes are beautiful statues that add atmosphere to a room.
