NIEMEYER 2 seat sofa

The NIEMEYER II two-seater sofa by the designer Joana Santos Barbosa from InsidherLand is a redesign of the original Niemeyer sofa, named after the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, whose architecture spread like sculptural poetry. The rounded lines of the sofa are influenced by the remarkable “Casa das Canoas” that Niemeyer designed in 1951.

The flat roof offers its flowing forms to the round seat. The backward movement of the curve that frames a large granite boulder is recreated by the location of the seams in a meticulous upholstered work that flows all around the arms of the sofa.

The NIEMEYER II 2 seat sofa is an artistic piece that transmits a natural feel of well-being and can be used as a lounge sofa for luxury hotels and chalets or as a distinctive design to attract the attention in the most creative interiors.
