After 10 years of collaboration, TASCHEN Verlag presents the limited and autographed editions ARNOLD, a photographic homage to Arnold Schwarzenegger. The two-volume deluxe edition documents his impressive career spanning 75 years, from humble beginnings of a penniless childhood in the Austrian village of Thal to four times Mr. Universum and seven times Mr. Olympia to his career as the world’s leading action film star and governor of California. His films have grossed four billion dollars worldwide.
Well-known photographers such as Richard Avedon, Annie Leibovitz, Robert Mapplethorpe, Herb Ritts, Francesco Scavullo and Andy Warhol have contributed portraits. The set also includes early bodybuilding footage, film stills, dozens of personal photos from Schwarzenegger’s private archive, and exclusive interviews. It’s a powerful tribute to the popular self-made millionaire!
The large volume contains portraits and photos of Arnold, while the slightly smaller companion volume presents more intimate bodybuilding photos, film stills, and making-of shots. There are also exclusive interviews with Schwarzenegger and some of his closest associates, including film directors Ivan Reitmann and Bob Rafelson, as well as bodybuilding legends Franco Columbu, Dave Draper and Frank Zane.
