Description
HERON Bronze Statue
The HERON bronze statue by Jansen Furniture is depicted foraging. Blue herons often begin nesting as early as January – even in cold weather. They breed in colonies.
The bronze sculpture is created using the lost-wax casting process. A wax model is first created, which is then enclosed in a mold. The wax is melted out and replaced with molten bronze. After cooling, the mold is removed.
Larger sculptures are cast in individual pieces and then welded together. The surface is then hand-painted in multiple colors. The base is made of beige marble.
Bronze is traditionally composed of approximately 80% copper and 20% tin.
