FERNANDINE 2-SEATER SOFA

The walls of Fernandine are part of the story that encompasses the city of Porto in northern Portugal. These medieval fortresses, crowned by battlements, were completed during the reign of King D. Fernando and their remains are part of the exceptionally beautiful landscape of the D. Luís Bridge with colorful houses painting the banks of the Douro River.

Inspired by these old fortifications in Porto, the FERNANDINE two-seater sofa by InsidherLand is seen from the outside as a high wall that surrounds the seat. Three brass parts emerge as cutouts that simulate the battlements, as details that outline the structure and are also visible inside the piece.

The perimeter of Fernandine is like the great wall, noble and courageous, strong and safe, but its interior with a raised seat and a loose pillow becomes as comfortable and charming as the warm welcome typical of the Porto people.
